LFO - LFO
It’s only fair that I pick an LFO track for Throwback Thursday. I apologize to anyone who finds that repetitive (and I hope no one minds the double-posting, I owe this blog a lot of posts orz).
The Hacker posted this on his FB saying LFO’s first record changed his life and I would believe it. I can’t think of any artist I love whose music could be called techno whose music couldn’t be traced back to LFO and Mark Bell. I’m totally serious! Please listen to this and I assure you that you can hear it. I mean people say that Gesaffelstein’s early tracks sound a lot like The Hacker’s productions, but really I think if that is true it’s that they have the same influences — this one is particularly strong. It’s beautiful and atmospheric, but never lets you forget that it’s techno — even without the usual pounding.
I don’t really like to compare artists to other artists, I don’t think it’s fair to anyone, but I am not presenting this to make a comparison I swear. Instead I want to showcase something really beautiful and maybe you will hear how it inspired a lot of other beautiful music that you’ve already heard.
